Arabian Peninsula Memories

The current war in the Persian Gulf area (also known as the Arabian Gulf) has brought back memories of my travels there in 2023. I’ve been reviewing my photos and blog posts with concern for the many ordinary people who live in that area. My heart also goes out to all the U.S. military members who are deployed to the area and the family members at home who worry about their safety. I hope my past blog posts were fair in describing the cities and countries we visited, all of them in close proximity to Iran.

My first post about that trip included maps and described the journey. I included many photos, primarily taken in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Check it out: Arabian Gulf Surprises Part 1.

My fourth blog post highlights locations popular with tourists, including our group: TEN AMAZING EXPERIENCES IN ABU DHABI, KHASAB, FUJAIRAH AND MUSCAT. Most of the photos are from the country of Oman. I also share my conflicted feelings about having such an enjoyable trip in countries where residents lack so many freedoms we are accustomed to in the United States.

I hope you will review my blog posts as a way of getting better acquainted with an area now entangled in a war that is causing many deaths and much destruction, with an outcome unknown at this time.
